Question: Would not using tap water kill off some of the good bacteria since it has chlorine? Shouldn’t distilled or reverse osmosis water be used (chemical free)?
Have you thought about using bacteria like rid-X or some other bacteria to increase the methane production and to decompose the maneur faster? I understand that water temerature is also a factor so if you are to increase the temp inside the digester you will have faster acting bacteria and gas production would increase, also your afluent (the liquid left over) will be clear and full of nutrients for your plants.
I really like this video it was very well thought out.would this have worked as a septic system and have just used the gas from that for heating and cooking?
@gabyrig now don’t get me wrong, it could be used with human waste also, but I really think you would have to come up with more of a design based on a septic tank that breaks human waste down and have the head space for the methane gas to be extracted from. the over flow he has here is with the pony waste which like cow manure is suitable for growing plants in.
@tappakeggaday1 I thought the same thing then I started looking around because I wanted to do that in a remote part of Haiti. I’m not sure what the UN does with the slurry because I couldn’t figure out the rest of the Portuguese (I think) at the end of the video by the pond but it sounds like it’s general practice.
right before your filter, you had a pressure regulator right? how many pounds of gas was it showing?i didnt catch the dimensions of your underground tank, I know you said 2 foot but 2 foot by what?or was that just the head space for the gas under there?I really like this video and am more into the design of this whole process
@gabyrig I dont think you would want to use human manure or humanure because if you planned to use the slurry for garden purposes human feces carries to many bad pathogens,I could see this working for just about any farm animal though, pigs especially
Could you use human waste for this? And also, this may be a stupid question but, do you smell anything inside the house (i.e., pony poop, rotten egg smell)?
I love the info you have provided. Have you measured your production? For example, I shoveled 5 loads of poo and it produced me X number of pounds of gas.
Very interested in your production level. I would be great to produce this gas for a gas generator to power electricity for the home when service is down.
How is the gas contained? Is it just within that domed part that was tarred? Or are you compressing it into a tank for something, how about posting some full diagrams or your digester.
This is very clever. I’m going to think about putting something like that in at my house- I’m not convinced that it’s a good idea yet, but I’m getting there! Thank you so much for showing your system in this much detail.

good job bro.

thanks
can you send me the exact dimensions you used

how about using it as an outhouse?
nice presentation thanks
whats the psi of the gas coming out?
thank u. ur presentation is so good i downloaded it.
Does ‘sludge’ build up over time, and thus occasionally you have to have the tank pumped out or cleaned?
do u know how much gas it makes in 24hrs?
and do you have to drain and clean it out?
i have looked at a lot of them to build but i like yours thanks
cool project good luck

To use human fecal wastes in this digestor, whould there be any down side;to use it?
great method environment friendly
Is That water that over flows out of tank have fertilizer properties to it. Like for a fertilizer spray on vegetable gardens?

its a great video sir… one thing not clear is your bubbler.. How can I make one like yours. I want to make the same as what you have..hehehe
